How our economics work
We believe owners deserve to understand exactly how an investor makes money before they take a cheque. Here, in plain terms, is how ours works.
Private capital is not sold by the hour or the item, so a conventional price list would be misleading. Instead, our economics follow the standard, transparent structure used across the industry, and we are happy to walk through every line of it.
Nothing below is a cost you pay us for a service — it describes how returns are shared between a fund, its investors and the companies it backs.
| Term | Typical | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Management fee | ~2% of committed capital / yr | Covers the cost of running the fund; standard and disclosed in full. |
| Carried interest | ~20% of profits | Our share of gains, and only after investors receive their capital back plus a preferred return. |
| Preferred return (hurdle) | ~8% / yr | Investors earn this before we participate in any profit. |
| Investment size | $2M – $25M | Typical cheque, depending on the company and stage. |
If you run a company considering investment, we are glad to explain all of this candidly, with no obligation and no pressure. Good decisions come from understanding the terms, not from being rushed.
